Art & Jazz Muse Poster

A nude muse curls along the arc of a piano keyboard, the keys fanning behind her like a halo. The bill advertises an Art & Jazz exhibition at the Society for Contemporary Art on Fifth Avenue, and the drawing earns the billing: salmon pink, dusty blue and warm yellow set off the black line in the flat, confident manner of mid-century exhibition graphics — two art forms bending toward each other. Choose the black frame; it answers the ink line and keeps the pastels from drifting sweet. At 18×24in the keyboard arc reads across a room. Hang it where music is played, and pair it with the yellow Austin jazz bill for a two-poster conversation about the same subject.
